COMMUNITY LINKAGES & PARTNERSHIPS - BGANZ QLD CONFERENCE 2010Gladstone Regional Council, Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens and Friends of the Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens, welcome delegates to Gladstone, Queensland, for the Conference of BGANZ Queensland from 12th - 15th August 2010. Following optional pre-conference workshops on Thursday 12th August the Conference will commence with registration and a welcome evening at 5.00 pm at the Gladstone Campus, CQUniversity, (Leo Zussino Building), located at the Gladstone Marina Bryan Jordan Drive. Please check the conference program for details on the speaker sessions and other events on Friday 13th August & Saturday 14th August, 2010. Sunday 15th August has the option of a field trip to Turkey Beach. Friday and Saturday Evening will also include networking opportunities with a planned dinner for delegates each evening. Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens - Masterplan 2010The Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens opened in May 2003 and has been developed under a Stage by Stage plan of construction and planting from 2001 to 2020, based on a Masterplan developed by Landscape Architect Lawrie Smith AM in 2000. 2009 saw the commencement of a review of the Masterplan 2000 document to update the development schedules and create current relevance incorporating climate change and conservation policies not previously highlighted. The Masterplan 2010 draft document is now available to view on the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens website at www.mackayregionalbotanicgardens.com.au/what_can_i_learn/masterplan_2010. The Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens appreciate any comments or suggestions prior to June 21, 2010. Feedback will be incorporated or annexed and in July, the Masterplan 2010 will be officially adopted by Mackay Regional Council.
