BGANZ Awards 2024

There are two awards available in 2024:

• A Professional Development Award, of up to AU$2,000. See BGANZ Professional Development Award Guidelines 2024.
• An Early Career Award, of up to AU$500. This award is open to all BGANZ Institutional Members who are within the first three years of their employment. See BGANZ Early Career Award Guidelines 2024.

The awards are open to all BGANZ Institutional Members (remember: if your organisation is a member of BGANZ – so are all its employees) from any department or role within the organisation, e.g. education, marketing, research, admin, horticulture, etc.

Previous winners include:

• 2023 Young Member Award: Meg Awatea Spittal, Horticultural Apprentice, Auckland Botanic Gardens, Aotearoa New Zealand. To read her story, click here.
• 2022 Professional Development Award: Thomas Mehlhose, Nursery Team Leader at the Kershaw Botanic Gardens Nursery, Rockhampton.
• 2021 Professional Development Award: Kate Roud, Team Leader Main Gardens, Wellington Botanic Garden, Aotearoa New Zealand. To read her story, click here.

Applications are now open online. The deadline for both awards is Friday 1 November 2024.
