To mark Botanic Gardens Week, on 19 May 2025, we are thrilled to be hosting students from Kyneton Primary School’s Gardening & Sustainability Club to celebrate the 162nd anniversary of the planting of our magnificent Algerian oak in 1863 (the Inauguration Tree) at the Ebden Street entrance.
The students will be planting out the large circular garden bed on the upper lawn and will also pot up a container of bulbs to take home. The Friends’ monthly working bee group will assist the students in these activities.
In addition, a `Talk to the Gardener’ event featuring the person who knows the Kyneton Botanic Gardens best, John Carabott, will enable members to learn more about his day-to-day work, current projects and upcoming plans for the gardens.
Local Councillors will be in attendance and light refreshments will be served on the Gardeners Cottage lawn.
This event is pram- and wheelchair-friendly
This event is being hosted by Friends of Kyneton Botanic Gardens. The Friends of Kyneton Botanic Gardens aim to raise community awareness and increase public use of the gardens.
