Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Australia’s oldest botanic garden, is home to thousands of native and international plant species spanning 30 hectares of rare and endangered plant collections. The garden is a treasure trove of botanical diversity featuring palms, orchids, cycads, ferns, and succulents in its living collection.

Located in the heart of Sydney CBD on Gadigal Land, the Royal Botanic Garden has the honour of sharing First Nations culture and history with visitors through Aboriginal Bush Tucker and Harbour Heritage tours.

We’re also home to The Calyx, a multipurpose greenhouse and events space that tells unique plant stories through long-running horticultural exhibitions and hosts the largest green wall in the Southern Hemisphere.

There’s a lot to see and do in the Garden, from private buggy tours to children’s theatre experiences. Take your time and explore themed plant areas, the Cadi Jam Ora storyline and the horticultural plant displays – or see for yourself why Sydneysiders have been enchanted by the Spring Walk for more than 150 years, with an annual display complementing this avenue of ornamental peaches and wisterias. Inspired to start your own garden? Shop for a great range of native and exotic plants propagated by skilled volunteers from the Garden’s living collection at Growing Friends Plant Sales.

Nestled between Sydney’s CBD and the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, and gazing out to Sydney Harbour, The Domain Sydney is one of the oldest, and most extensive public and cultural landscapes in Australia.

Every year this public space is home to some of Sydney’s favourite festivals and cultural events.
