Australian Seed Bank Partnership

The Australian Seed Bank Partnership is a not-for-profit alliance of 14 organisations, including botanic gardens, state agencies, and NGOs, governed by the Council of Heads of Australian Botanic Gardens Inc. It aims to conserve Australia’s native plant diversity through collaborative seed collecting, banking, research, and knowledge sharing.

The website features links to projects such as “Critically Endangered” for the recovery of 10 critically endangered flora, “The Rare Bloom” partnership to conserve Australian wildflowers, and the Australian Virtual Seed Bank Portal, a repository of seed collections and germination data. This innovative online portal, developed with the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA), provides access to aggregated seed data from various seed banks across Australia.
