The Toolkit is designed to help anyone caring for botanic gardens and arboreta manage their living plant collections more effectively. It works for sites of all sizes, resource levels, and development stages. The Toolkit provides all necessary tools and guides you step-by-step to assess your collections and create a tailored Living Collections Plan for your site.
It helps botanic gardens develop and implement a formal plan for their plant collections. Suitable for gardens of all sizes and stages, the Toolkit is divided into two parts: assessing the garden and plant material, and producing a formal Living Collections Plan. This plan documents living collections, priorities, and management recommendations, and can be shared online or in print. It is also suitable for BGCI Accreditation and increasing public awareness.
The Living Collections Toolkit is free for BGANZ Institutional and Associate members. It is available for purchase for non-members.
