First published 1997 by the Australian Network for Plant Conservation (ANPC) the Germplasm Guidelines (officially “Plant Germplasm Conservation in Australia”) are an essential handbook for ex-situ plant conservation.
They are regarded highly by Botanic Gardens staff working with threatened plants. Many Botanic Gardens staff have contributed to this revision and BGANZ was on the steering group. It presents 8 revised chapters, 7 new ones and 50 case studies and was launched by Tim Entwistle at the virtual Australasian Seed Science Conference who described the guideline as ‘timely, necessary and perfectly pitched’.
